This was actually a pretty fun shoot. It just so happened that every day we filmed, it was snowing outside. So it became a running joke that "we only film on snow days."
We decided to tell this story and use all Festool brand tools in a testimonial/documentary style. We entered it into the 2014 Festool video contest.
Here's some photos from the other side of the camera and the movie is at the bottom of this blog.
So, here's Ty setting up for a domino close up shot.
This was me marking the plywood getting ready to set up for the track saw shot and Ty on the ladder taking it all in.
The glue upp! Each side was glued up individually and then all the parts came together. I actually ended up having to make this window section larger to accommodate the trimmed section and sliding door on the inside.
What do you see here? I see an owl and that's why I added a beak. Some people see different things and that's why I think this is a cool addition to the box. This is the inside sliding door that stops the light from coming into the box. I wanted to have these eyes looking out the window but once the red film went on you couldn't see clear enough through it to see anything. So, now it just watches you as you develop wet plates!
If you haven't seen the movie yet here it is!
I'd love to hear your feedback......
